(alphabetical value NG)
All of the Runes have an image, or symbol, that sets the train of recollection, ideology, and meaning in motion. This image isn't the 'meaning' of the rune, it is the picture that sparks off of the meaning and gives it form and reality. The prompt-symbol for Ing is its name, the Hearth God of the Norse. He is the God who keeps things going well, protects the home, and respects the right way of acting. He also represents stored potential, often in reference to the stored potential of male fertility and its release. The hearth is the heart of the house, and the daily practices are the heart of a religion. Right action comes about by referencing every action against the ideal, rather than saving high moral ground only for 'important' issues. |
